West Rapid

Rapid City is divided by hills into 2 distinct areas, the east and west. The west side is commonly referred to a West Rapid. West Rapid has lots of unique shops and services, including specialty shops, restaurants, taverns, Baken Park Shopping Center, fast food and groceries.

West Rapid is comprised of the area from Omaha Street on the north, Cross Street on the east, the southern city limits on the south and the western city limits in the west. It is a large area that includes a high school, several shopping areas, several golf courses, and a beautiful park surrounding a lake.

The major streets within West Rapid are Jackson Boulevard, Main Street, Omaha Street, Mountain View Road, Sheridan Lake Road and Canyon Lake Drive. Because of the hills to the east, there are only a couple routes back to the east part of the city. You can go through the Gap or travel to the southern part of West Rapid and cross on Wildwood Drive.
